SpeNDS HIS FINAL YEARS AS KING WITH STAN AND STEVE.
Sammy was 11-1/2 when he came to live with Stan and Steve. His original owner became very ill and was forced to surrender Sam to a local NY rescue group, After an initial adoption with a family who was bitten when they chased Sammy to stop him by pulling his tail, he was deemed inappropriate and then taken to a shelter where Steve made arrangements to pick him up to take him back to PA to be put down. Meeting Sammy, there was no way this dog was naughty; in fact, he was very kind hearted but hard of hearing. He had a wise and regal sense about him that well provided for older dogs seem to develop so well! He lived with Stan and Steve for the next 5 years until he could no longer stand and his body finally gave up in their arms.
