Important Things to Consider

• Vizslas require considerable amounts of exercise, mental stimulation, affection, play, socialization with humans and other dogs, and unconditional love. These needs are greater than many other breed's needs and a vizsla will not thrive without them. They may also become naughty or destructive if they are deprived of these needs.
• As active dogs, Vizslas require high quality  premium brand food with lots of protien to maintain health and weight. This equates to higher feeding costs. Grocery store food will not give your dog the nutrition it needs.
• Vizslas are not a good match for every home. They are highly intelligent and trainable. However, they crave attention and can be all over their human family and friends. If you do not like dogs that jump up or go on furniture, this may not be the breed for you. The truth is, many Vizslas sleep in bed, even under the covers, with their owners.
• If you give a Vizsla what it needs (physically, emotionally, and mentally) you will have the most wonderful dog you could imagine. You will have a devoted friend and companion for life.
• Vizslas want to be part of everything you do. They will hang out on the couch, travel with you, go to the park, and just about anything else you can think of. They do not like being excluded from the activities of the household and must be treated like members of the family. Do not be surprised when they open the bathroom door or cry to join you!
• If you have a Vizsla, you will never tire of admiring its' beauty, grace, and athleticism. The good news is that you won't have to do much grooming to maintain your pet's love appearance.
